GEORGIA GAMING TERMS TO KNOW

Delving into the world of Class B COAMs for your establishment can introduce a slew of industry-specific terms and acronyms. To help you navigate this language with confidence, Double Down Gaming offers a comprehensive glossary of essential Georgia Coin Operated Amusement Machine Industry Terms. Get acquainted with the key terms below.

CLASS A COAM MACHINE:

A Class A machine refers to a genuine coin-operated amusement device distinct from Class B machines. It does not permit players to carry over points from one play to another and does not provide monetary rewards. Instead, it may offer free replays, extended playtime, or noncash prizes such as merchandise, toys, or gift certificates to successful players. Examples include kiddie rides, skeeball, claw machines, pinball games, pool tables, jukeboxes, and similar devices. Notably, points earned on a Class A machine cannot be carried over to subsequent plays.

CLASS B COAM MACHINE:

A Class B machine refers to an electronic device designed for public amusement or entertainment. Users interact with it by inserting bills, tickets, cards, or similar items. The outcome of the game depends on the player's skill, such as in video lineup or matchup machines. Unlike Class A machines, Class B machines allow points to accumulate or carry over to future plays. Players must rely on their own skill level, like making strategic choices to achieve success.

COIN OPERATED AMUSEMENT MACHINE (COAM):

A Coin Operated Amusement Machine (COAM) is a device designed for public amusement or entertainment. Users engage with it by inserting coins, bills, tokens, tickets, cards, or similar items. The outcome of the game hinges on the player's skill, regardless of whether it offers rewards to successful players. COAMs fall into two categories defined by Georgia law: Class A machines and Class B machines. Players of Class B machines can only redeem credits for in-store merchandise, fuel, or lottery tickets.

GROSS RETAIL RECEIPTS:

Gross retail receipts refer to the total revenue generated by a business at a single location from the sale of goods and services, including any commissions earned.

LOCATION LICENSE HOLDER:

A Location License Holder (LLH) is the individual or entity that owns or operates a business where one or more COAMs are accessible for public play. Any establishment allowing COAMs for public use must possess a valid COAM Location License issued by the Georgia Lottery Corporation.

MASTER LICENSE HOLDER:

A Master License Holder (MLH), such as Double Down Gaming, is the entity or individual who owns COAMs installed in a business and offered for public use. Any MLH placing machines in an establishment for public play must possess a valid COAM Master License issued by the Georgia Lottery Corporation.
